Job Description: Guards, also called security officers or security guards, patrol and inspect property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Security Officers control access to and protect industrial, commercial, and residential property. They may protect equipment, money, records, information, merchandise, personal valuables, and art. Guards may provide information in public buildings, screen crowds in social and sporting events, protect money and valuables in armored cars, check credentials of persons entering offices and buildings, screen passengers at airport security areas, and observe customers in retail stores.
