Remember that looking for work is a full-time job.
It is important that you set aside specific hours for job search activities.
Try to spend as much time looking for work as you would at a job.
Realize that looking for work is sometimes stressful and frustrating, and that on some days you may not want to make the effort to look for work.
And remember that your effort will determine your results.
You have a lot of help available to you with your work search. The Employment Development Department (EDD) offers "no fee" employment services to employers and referral services to job seekers.
To locate the address and telephone number of the nearest Workforce Services Office, look up the Employment Development Department under "State Government" in the white pages of your telephone book.
The Internet has many job postings. EDD posts jobs available in California on the CalJOBS Web site. You can look them up later at www.caljobs.ca.gov. You will be asked for your social security number to log in. If you click on the CalJOBS link, you will leave this site, so you might want to finish looking at this site first.
Other helpful on-line sites are also available from the Worksmart menu list on the left by clicking on "Resources on the Internet."
