Job Description: Restaurant Cooks are responsible for preparing any item on the menu of a full-service restaurant. Restaurant Cooks must have the skills to produce a wide variety of complete meals some of which require lengthy and elaborate preparation. Chefs are the most highly skilled cooks who usually have the most training and experience. Chefs are responsible for preparing distinctive and high quality food, planning menus, ordering supplies, ensuring profitability, hiring and supervising cooks and food preparation staff. All experienced cooks are capable of all phases of cooking.
