Job Description: Food Preparation Workers assist chefs, cooks, and pastry bakers. Food Preparation Workers weigh and measure recipe ingredients, make salads and sandwiches; help prepare soups and sauces; clean, peel, and slice fruits and vegetables; prepare coffee; and slice and grind meat, poultry and seafood. They also provide knives, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment; clean work area, equipment, eating utensils, and dishware. Workers may move kettles and pots from one part of the kitchen to the other.
